| The Chapel Hill Holiday Parade sponsored by the Chapel Hill News in Chapel Hill kicked off an hour earlier on a chilly Saturday morning, December 4, 2004 at 9 am, the temperatures hovering in the high 30's, with many of the children and parents in tow, coming for a glimpse of Santaand to see the floats and one anothers friends and families gathered along Franklin St. The parade, which usually begins at 10am, was begun earlier by the coordinaters, hoping that the earlier hour would be less hassle for the cleanup crews and exiting automobile and foot traffic, before the UNC basketball game fans started descending on downtown as early as 10am for a noon time game. |
