A National Socialist Movement rally was held on the capitol lawn in Raleigh, NC, February 21, 2004 where hundreds of protestors came to excercise their legal rights to voice their opinion loud and clear, saying the rally was something entirely unwanted in the capitol city. Thankfully there was very little violence and both the protestors and the rally members contributed their equal share of enthusiastic and emotional vocal protesting. There were only a few minor skirmishes between the police and protestors resulting in a friskings and dententions in police cruisers. The Party members had to be bussed to the lawn at the beginnings of the rally as the protestors tried blocking the procession from where the rally members had parked and where planning to march up to the capitol lawn. Police interveened and decided the safest option would be a randomized bussing system which led the buses around blocked off streets surrounding the capitol unitl a clearing amongst the prostestors could be found where the busess were unloaded and the protestors were held within one hundred yards of the entrance to the lawn where the party members marched to the podium to deliver their speeches which lasted for several hours. The speeches lasted from 2pm to 4pm,, though intially planned to start at noon, the bussing problems perhaps cut the rally short, ordered by the party members themselves or the police who maintaned a constant vigilence, trying to keep order in a potentially explosive situation.
