After a long day a social services, Meadows lets her frustrations out in tears while standing in her backyard. She talks of how she has been treated, not able to draw disability after being out of work for three years. Meadows is 50 years old. Since the age of 16 she has been employed working one full-time job and one part-time job. At the age of 47, a doctor told her she needed her thyroid "burnt out". She had the procedure done. The doctor did not follow up afterwards and her body filled with fluid. She gained 43 pounds in a matter of weeks. Since she has been in serious pain and was forced to quit her two jobs.
